PrincessWow talks with Terri Thal

Terri Thal was Bob Dylan’s first manager (she also managed her husband Dave Van Ronk and other groups). This fall she published My Greenwich Village: Dave, Bob, and Me, thus adding to the memoirs we have of Bob’s early years in Greenwich Village: Dave Van Ronk’s The Mayor of MacDougal Street (completed by Elijah Wald after Van Ronk’s death, Suze Rotolo’s A Freewheelin’ Time, Peter McKenzie’s Bob Dylan, on a Couch and Fifty Cents a Day (our December book selection), Elijah Wald’s Dylan Goes Electric, Dave Hajdu’s Positively 4th Street, and Bob’s Chronicles Volume One. Terri recounts that she wanted to title her book “I Never Carried Anybody’s Guitar” and was regretful that Suze Rotolo was cropped from the cover photo to fit the book’s size. Here is an idiosyncratic conversation of Terri and Princess Wow, a fan of smiling (you can find more Terri Thal interviews and conversations on youtube):
